  • so since my xanga has become incredibly useless, i have decided to give my restaurant reviews..because of my love for food. i don't care if anybody reads it but it's for my own journal keeping

So first restaurant on topic: CANTON FUSION (redlands, CA)

The sushi was kind of mediocre...nothing special, but than again i'm not a big sushi person. What is shown above is the spicy trio, which consists of: spicy salmon, spicy tuna and spicy california roll.

Amy had the Kung Pao Chicken (shown on left), it was oook. Nothing really special, I would rather have some chicken dish at Panda Express. I ordered the Orange Beef (on the right), it was actually really good. I would say it had to be my favorite thing I had there.

I went another time with my brother's family, and we ordered the KAPOW chicken and it was good except it was like dry fried chicken, it needs some sort of sauce on it.

  • 5 things I love about korea:

    1) the restaurants and cafes
    2) accessories
    3) public transportation (except when i get lost taking the bus)
    4) running into SDA people you know in a city filled with 48 million people and gathering together and hanging out
    5) all the hof places and places to shake your booty

5 things i detest about korea:

    1) missing people back home ( you know who you are )
    2) the crowded subway with smelly drunk ahjuhshees and pushy ahjumahs
    3) how all girls wear the same style of clothes therefore have no sense of individual style
    4) couples that make me wanna gag with their couple Ts and PDA
    5) when people stare when ur speaking english

5 things i desperately miss about america:

    1) talking to friends in person
    2) my car
    3) green grass and trees
    4) steaks, burgers, salads,
    5) my bed and soft clothes

although in korea's standards, i'm having a "blast" doing all the things i could possibly do here, but i must say i realized that im a pure bred american more than ever haha looking forward to coming home :)

  • From CNN NEWS:

LOUISVILLE, Kentucky (AP) -- A 13-year-old girl whose feet were severed in an accident on an amusement park ride is in stable condition in a Nashville, Tennessee, hospital, her family said in a written statement Tuesday.

Kaitlyn Lasitter, whose name had not previously been released by officials, was riding the Superman Tower of Power ride Thursday at Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom in Louisville when a cable broke loose on the ride, cutting off the girl's feet above the ankles, authorities said.

Soo yeah this is where I used to go like three times a week in the summer time when I lived in louisville, KY and I rode the very same ride like a bajillion times...scary!!

  • My experiences in Korea thus far:

    1) Dongdaemun midnight shopping: Hyunhaeng and I were quite freaked out at the desperateness of these storekeepers for you to buy their clothes. One of the store keepers came up behind me and placed her ICE cold bottle of water on my back to get my attention. Let's just say I gave her one of those korean girl "what are you doing?" glares. All the guy t-shirts are quite short, very difficult to shop for people back home I must say.

    2) NB: hip hop club. VERY interesting haha. The difference I saw was that girlz usually have fun just dancing with each other, but here the girls look like they are in desperate need of attention from guys, let's just say its not very sexy and Hyunhaeng and I owned up the dance floor.

    3) Pusan: mmmm the miami of korea. LOVED it. So beautiful. Had some white guys talk about our nice asses as if we didn't understand. So we turned around and said "HULLO!" and flashed them our american smiles. And they also scream out random things like "NAMPYUN!( husband) I guess that is their way of hollering to korean ladies. It is a place you should never go alone tho, it is couple paradise, everywhere you look you will see couples. It is ok because Hyunhaeng and I started holding hands while strolling along the beach. :)

    4) The Circle: trendy celebrity night club. Saw one of the guys from drunken tiger, but it really didn't excite me much. I realized that I probably don't care what celebrities I see in Korea haha but I guess I can at least say that I saw one.

Ok I was writing this entry in class but I must go now. Will update more later! MISS U ALL!!

  • It has been quite some time since I have posted a real entry on xanga...sooo dunno if anybody will read this haha but just for my own entertainment I will list what is going on in my life right now:

~I am currently teaching at Bundang SDA English Institute: So far the students are still pretty shy and stare at me like they want to cry because they don't understand me. But hopefully it will get better...I am staying inside a room at the English Institute that has a HORRID smell and is quite depressing...but I am getting used to it except that there is a noraebang right downstairs and all I hear are drunkards singing away

~have already had two encounters on the subway that have scared me:

    1) First a man approaches me and asks if I speak English, because I guess i was looking at map, than asks me if i have a boyfriend, and i say yes haha, and than he asks if i have a boyfriend in korea, and than i'm ok walk away (kelly clarkson style ;) )

    2) A man is hunched over about four seats away from me, (thought he was sleeping), than he looks at me and gets up and sits right next to me...i realize he is druuuuunk. so i get freaked out and run to the next subway car

~Food I have ate so far in Korea:

    1) Dakgalbi (my fav)

    2) Pat bing soo (at redmango)

    3) Naeng myun

    4) Jjajangmyun

    5) Kimbap

    6) Lapoggi

    7) Paris Baguette

So thats about it...but you should see my TO EAT  list its muuuuch longer :)

Those of you that have been to korea...please give me suggestions and MUST to dos here...ok must get to my class...
